Default More Flickable and Fun on the Street: 600RR vs gsx-R750

Looking to upgrade my street machine this year... I don't know jack about race machines so honestly my decision is driven by magazine reviews. Currently I am riding fz1 and really wish for something both smaller and lighter, though the engine is amazing above 4k. The local dealers don't allow test rides. Help me out...

I rarely ride 20mph above the speed limit (damn tickets =) and don't ride on the track yet so my main concern is how flickable and how fun a bike is at street speeds. I am assuming lighter is more fun but would love to hear some opinions from people that actually rode the bikes I am looking at.

2007 CBR600RR vs 2007 GSX-R750 - which one "feels" lighter on the street, which one is more fun at close to speed limit?Any other suggestions? I am guessing the lack of slipper clutch should not be a problem on the street.

The cbr will "feel" lighter on the street beacause well ....it is lighter
Both bikes are very fun and you wont make a bad choice(fun is just from a person to person bases)
You wont notice the "slipper clutch" at all.

I haven't ridden the GSXR-750, but my 06-600rr has changed direction as fast as I have ever needed it to on the street. My riding is pretty close to legal speeds too, and this thing is just awesome in the twisty roads.

Good luck,

There is only 14 lbs difference between the two bikes. Will 14 lbs "feel" that much different????

i'm not a big fan of the undertail pipes. the lower pipe of the gixxer and R6 actually makes the bike feel more flickable.
it's amazing what lowering the center of gravity does to a bike.

in the end it all comes down the rider.

i want an FZ1.

But dont they only have the pipe on the one side? It seems like underseat pipes would be better for a more balanced feel unless you had pipes on both sides. How much to they weigh anyway? Is it enough to make a difference in the feel?

yes it is...hop on a gixxer and R6 and feel the difference. even though it's only on one side, it's so much lower to the ground and it makes a world of difference.

What's a slipper clutch? The look of two tail pipe makes the bike look mean, I'd like two tail pipe on my 07 600rr.
