Default mil 16??

ok guys, im posting for a friend who rides with me. his 04 600rr dies on him randomly when riding. it happened today while i was with him and i noticed it was throwing a code 16. he doesnt know too much about the mechanics yet so im helping him learn. any idea what 16 is? the bike will fire right back up after about a minute. id like to fix it if i can without having him waste cash at the stealer and have more down time from riding.

thanks for the help

i have no idea about codes, but check and c if the kickstand is tight, if it is falling down whilie riding or getting a lil loose the engine will turn off. Hope it helps.

MIL 16> number 1 secondary injector according to the service manual
possible causes are loose connector, open or short circuit on secondary injector wire or falty injector.

does it happen when the tacho reaches 5000 rpm ?

he didnt say what rpm it was, just said it was random. we made it back from where it died without incident. a secondary injector fault shouldnt shut down the bike though. im gona check his kickstand today. i wounder if the code is just an old one in the memory.

anyfaultin the engine would shut down the engine to prevent damage, the second injector starts at around 5000 rpm

this is according to the service manual
