Default Loose Chain on the Dyno.....EEEk

I went to the grand opening of a local bike shop there was a good 100+ bikes(good for Oregon) and they were having hand outs and what not one of the competitions was a dyno shoot out. Sign up for free and see what she will crank out.

I put my 05 600RR up there and managed to pull out third in the 600 class. When i pulled it off another rider pointed out that my tension bolt on the left was loose and i checked my chain slack and it was ridiculous. Dangerously loose. (funny thing is the last people to mess with that back there is that exact shop before they moved to the new building to put my pilot powers on.) None the less it is completely my fault for not checking it.

I retightened it tonight to spec and it is better. My question is would my insanely loose chain effect my numbers at on all on the dyno?

P.S. i will post up a video Tuesday morning if anyone wants to watch....

I'm sure it would have some sort of negative effect on it some how, but not by much though (if even noticeable).

Ya know i dyno'd my 03 RR a few months back and in the process seen a piecemeal stretched junk a matic with a loose chain and headers..Twista and Turnin 20's can vouch on this one...it was soo loud and his chain was loose too but im not sure its gonna have an adverse affect..what was your HP anyways...mine was a 104.5 and i got beat out by a Triumph ...the last day...

It's good you found the loose chain before it did any damage and I have to commend you on your attitude. So many riders take their bikes into a shop and blindly trust that everything is perfect. Shops can and do make mistakes too.

Yea i rarely take my baby into the shop i don't trust the damn grease monkeys(no offense to any mechanics) but for the tires it was a hell of a deal and i sat there while they did it. They have a race team and what not so they did good.

To CbrFreek:
I got third(in the 599cc and below class) lost to a 2006 R6 full akrapovic system racing system PC3 and custom map(it was one of the shops race bikes) pulled 118HP at the wheel.
And the bike that got second should have been me was a 636(which isnt in the correct catagory) got 113hp at the wheel running PC3 custom map and full Arata system(i believe a full).
i pulled a 104.8 with just a slip-on. I got three or four runs at once the shop bike that got first got like 8 lmao.

A Stock 2006 gsxr 600 pulled 98hp at the wheel....Ouch
