ever since the 07+ came out, it seems people have nothing but negative things to say about the previous years. There seem to be a few misunderstandings here.
05-06 is lighter than the 03-04 and has improved midrange power
07-08 is ligher than the 05-06 and has improved midrange power
Each generation is going to get better slightly. If people always want to get the best and the newest you wont be keeping your bikes for too long. For street riding ALL 600s kick ***. These weight differences between the generations play the biggest role on the track. I love my 06. I could have got an 07 but I like the way the 06 looks better. Plus, I have a full system and a PC3. Dont discredit the 03-06 just b/c they are older

An advanced rider on a 600 can probably outride me (on a 1000RR) in a lot of senerios, with the exception of a straight line race. I am not a bad rider either, but I can face the facts.
I honestly think that you will be happy with any one of those bikes, so go with the one that appeals to you (and your budget) the most.

Onarom I agree with you, as an '03 600RR rider, and a supersport rider in general, we are all kidding ourselves if we don't believe that any one of these bikes aren't engineered better thanmost ofourability to ride ride them! You can make whichever bikeyou buy into whatever you need it to be.
The bike chooses the rider, you'll know when you find the right one.

Good points there guys, i think the main reason he will get a newer one 06'07 is longevity, he wants something he can keep for min 4years and has less than 10Ketc. Mind you there are very nice looking 03-04's out there for that matter, budget is very important as well, dont break the bank just to get an 07'.

Yep longevity, ease of service and parts.I'm selling my 88 rx7 to pay for most of this, and let me tell you that car has none of that haha. So I want to avoid getting into the same boat with bikes. Not to say I couldn't find parts for an 03 but in ten years from now? who knows. I would rather pay an extra 1000 for extra "youth" with the bike.
But yes it will come down to best price option.
