led flash controller

I installed my led turn signals today. I knew I was supposed to have one of those signal resistors but only thought it would blink twice the speed. (say normal is 60 blinks a min. led moves them to 30 blinks per min.) However they blink pretty much so fast that it looks like they are always on. For those of you who have installed these where did you mount the rear signal resistors? The description says they get hot and I don't want to melt the plastics.

did you go led all the way around or just the rear sig. or sig and tail? cause mine (f4i) blinked really fast with the tail light still stock and the rest led but slowed a little when i went all led. its still faster than stock but looks like a blinker. maybe it because you have led in the rear and standard in the front. just some stuff to ponder till you hear from an rr guy.

The front were led when i bought it and rear were normal. I'm not sure on the tail light though. They kind of look like led I'll have to check it out. As far as i could tell with only the rear signals being stock they blinked normally.

How hot are these going to get? Would I be able to mount them to the plastic tray over the muffler?

definately. they create "heat" because they're slowing down the power at the same rate as the incandescent light bulb so no its not gonna be melting your plastic that the exhaust doesn't.

I got a set of LED flushmounts ordered for my bike now (front). The guys at the shop said I had to order a resister with it, so I did. Hopefully it's not too much of a PITA installing it!

I did order them also. However I figured out you really don't need them. I never tried the blinkers when the bike was on.....duh me..... anyway they do blink a bit fast but I'm not going to use the resistors.

Right on, thanks!

I should have the flushmounts in a day or two. The guy said if I don't need the resistor, I can send it back anyway.

I found out a new weird thing. When my brights are on the blinkers turn sold.
