my queation is how far can you lean the 600rr with stock tires? can you knee drag with the stock tired? my buddy told me that you can lean far enough to drag but this is coming from a guy that has wrecked 2 bikes knee dragging and another by parking it (that is a long story itself but it is funny). so anyone that can help with this question.

Yes you can lean far enough with stock tires...I just took a 2005 CBR600RR to Laguna Seca and it was railing with stock tires!!! Tires on just about any stock street bike can handle this

Tis true!! But watch out for that sandy patch at the apex of the next curve. Tires stressed to the max aren't very forgiving.

Only thing bad about the stock tires, is they are a harder compound tire... and take longer to warm up... THATS WHY THEY ARE KILLAZ.... I get down and dirty sometimes after like a mile of warmin them up, and I RAIL a turn, and im drifting the whole time and when I accelorate out, I get squidly.... But also here in Vegas, roads suck, not that many twisties, and tooooooo many cars n BS in the road. Just gotta warm those 208's up though...

I hate the 208's.... Worst tire ever...

:eek: i got the 04 600rr and i was wondering what kind/brand/size tire to use if i plan on doing a lot of cornering? are they verry expensive, should i change the front and rear??? any advice?

^Ithink you should try out those pilot RACES....

Gangster ass angles... And you probably wont be daily driving these tires around. Im talkin / \ angles lol....
And no they arent that expensive.

I hate Dunlops also -- thankfully the 1000RR came with Pirelli's. They're alright -- but I got a set of BT012SS just waiting to take their place. The Pirelli's are decent once warmed up but if the temp is under 70F you gotta ride like a frikkin maniac to get them warm.

I leave the fancy crap to the ex-spurts. Seen too many peeps get on the brakes at the wrong point and high side. My personal style is to take advantage of the excellent binders we got on these things. I late brake like a mo-fo then toss it over and throttle through the curve. If I still have too much speed into the curve I might ever so softly trail brake to wash off some speed but I'd really rather just lean than brake. It's all personal preference -- whatever you're comfy with. My buddy is an amateur racer and I can always beat him into a curve by late braking but he can often pass me on the inside when I bring in too much speed.
