RE: Just wanted to say hi.
Can't wait to see pics of the new bike! The owners manual that comes with the bike should give you all the information you need about break-in. Trust me... it's easy... and you only have "guidlines" (if you can call it that) for the first 300 miles. Change the oil when it says too, make sure the first service is done, etc.

RE: Just wanted to say hi.
yeah ill get pics asap.
i havent seen many black ones on here, lots of blue ones though!
yeah i was unaware the manual said 300, cause everyone will say something different depending on who you ask.
and i take meticulous care of my bikes, and it should be easier with a bike that has an odometer lol
i have a whole list of mods planned out already, but first and foremost is a factory service manual.
and i was going to follow A break in procedure, just wasnt sure if i should believe what i was being told.
im new to the streetbike scene but been on the dirt for 5 years.
im already learning alot!

Deffinately read the manual... just look in the back for "break in period" or something like that... it will tell you the page number to check out. I'd quote it to you... but my manual's at home.

HA! I lied... I forgot I have the PDF of it on my laptop... it's page 210 in the owners manual... says this...
"Help assure your motorcycle's future reliability and performance by paying extra attention to how you ride during the first 300 miles (500 km).
During this period, avoid full-throttle starts and rapid acceleration."
That's it.
"Initial" oil change schedual (found on page 77) is at 600 miles or 1 month. "Regular" oil changes every 8000 miles or 12 months. (I, however, still change it every 3K. It costs more, but I'm not hurting anything by changing it more often)
~Both oil changes include filter changes.
