Insurance Question

Hey guys,

I've had a 2006 F4i for a couple years now with Geico but I am in the process of purchasing a used 2009 CBR 600RR from a dealership for a price of $6,899, lowered from $10K.

My concern and question is, after I sell my F4i and purchase the 600RR, will my insurance go higher because of the "new" bike or will the insurance on the 600RR be the same as if I had the F4i?

Thanks for the help!!! :icon_playing:

I can't tell you from personal experience, but from what I've read here on CBRF those RR's look like $$ to your insurance agent ;) I got a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE quote from Geico BTW. get a quote from State Farm, the only stipulation is you have to insure your cage with them as well:icon_shrug:

an f4i is what insurance considers a sport touring, when you step up to an rr, that turns into a sport bike. now if you have a clean driving record the difference should be min. but if you have a lot of stuff, its going to go up considerable.

and if your above 25 it helps alot, or at least in tx it does.

Insurance companies see the RR and see $$. So expect a jump there. Then the bike is 3 years newer, so like anything else, that will cause it to go up a bit. Good luck and enjoy the bike...they are awesome.

try progressive man, i got an 09 cbr for $111 a month. its the cheapest i found. i'm 24 and pretty much could't get insurance from state farm and am fam was so expensive it was out of the question. i switched from allstate. good luck

I'm with progresive and since my bike is payed for and I'm 48 I only pay 81.00 a year but as a comparison the other leading insurance companys wanted 300.00+ a year. Most insurance companys go with a credit report which suck. Progressive still doesn't do that. Johnnyh

I am 33 and have a new rr. State Farm cost me $24 a month with a $500 deductible. I was pretty impressed....
