Are you comfortable on the bike? This is the only thing that matters.

A suspension set-up may be necessary if you plan on doing serious track days or spirited riding.

I'm 5'8" and 195. I just got an 08 600RR and I love it. There is a suggestion that if you weigh more than 190, you should get a rear sprocket with +1 tooth. This will make up for the extra weight during acceleration.

I am 6' even 206 pounds if you go to my web page you can see me on mine www.livevideo.com/joshua001 scroll down to middle of page and click on video named "Meeting joshua001 brush with the law pt 5". btw the next bike i get will be a 1000 just because of how tall i am the 1000 does seem to fit me a little better but i would not call the 600 to small by any means.

simple answer here. If you think you are too big for a 600, you are too big for a 1000. Get a crusier n stop posing.

you can get aftermarket rearests which will allow you to adjust your foot position.
as far as power, the 07/08 600rr is as powerful as litre bikes were a few years ago so you are fine there. the only thing you might want to look at is suspension
www.racetech.com has a spring weight calculator
you didnt say what year 600 you were looking at so here are some numbers
for your weight on an 07 600RR

stock fork spring rate 1.0
recommended spring rates
street .943 *so you have more spring than you need for the street
racing 1.008 *so you are only .008 kg/mm off ie just fine

stock shock rate 11.0
recommended spring rate
street 11.22
racing 11.78

for the 05/06 600rr

stock fork rate .83 with same recommended rates for your weight so you would have to respring or the bike would handle like crap

stock shock rate 11.0 same as the 07

for the 03/04 600RR
stock fork rate is .814 so it would be even further off
stock shock rate is 11.0 again

so hope all this helps,
spring swaps are easy if you need it and a properly set up suspension will make a huge difference to any bike.
