Hey all I have a 06 cbr 600 rr I bought it new in June 06 18,000 miles now. has run perfectly until last week. When I take a turn from stop (moreso left i think) and then take off the red oil light flashes and the the bike boggs. I know the the engine will cut off with low oil. I got the oil and filter changed today and the same thing. Its dangerous when this happens. I haveplenty of oil so what can the problem be?

 

Hello Bob, sorry to hear about your sick bike. Fortunately you CBRF, and I'm confident someone here can help. It sounds to me like maybe you have a loose connection. The oil light coming on would just be indicative that your bike is shutting down, and not neccesarily oil related, but I could definately be wrong. Good luck on the fix.

a few things can cause this
possibly a bad pressure sensor, bad oil pump, cracked case housing around the pressure relief valve, or a bad relief valve
to name a few
