Default Goodbye CBR... Bad wreck...

Well guys my bike is totaled... Went into a curve too hot and highsided into a ditch... I myself am ok (for the most part). Minor cuts and bruises... The bike is totaled.. Went into a 40mph curve and couldn't hold it... I leaned all the way down to my peg and threw some sparks.. That freaked me out so i brought it up a little bit and that was all she wrote. The bike hit a cement culvert at 100+ and I just bounced into the ditch...

My new bike (same exact one) should be in the garage in a couple weeks. In the meantime I'll still be on here shootin' the **** with you guys...

Well there were 4 of us.. (3) 600RR's and (1) 1000RR.. The guy on the 1000RR rides AMA and is a very skilled rider.. We were all behind him trying to keep up (with me being in right behind him).. When the road opened up straight, I doubled clicked back to 4th and shot past him.. I brought it all the way to 6th again by the time the turn came up. Big yellow sign saying "40 mph curve ahead"... I double clicked back to 4th and gave it a little brake.. That brought me down to just over 100mph.. I leaned the bike WAYYY down. My tires were plenty hot so I knew I could stick the turn.. After my peg made contact with the cement and I threw sparks, I just knew that was it! I leaned it back up just slightly to get off the peg and that was enough to throw me highside and send my bike into a tumbling act... My left shoulder is down for the count for right now and a few other minor cuts and bruises... Other than that I am fine and I learned my lesson.. I thank you guys for your support and I cannot wait to get on another.. After my insurance settles and Honda picks up the rest (GAP coverage).. I'll be on the same exact bike within a few weeks I'm sure... Thank you all for your concern.. You guys ride safe out there...

Wow man, glad you're alright. Too bad for the bike though.

I'm going to be the ******* here and say that 1. You probably shouldn't get another bike for a long time, 2. That it's not monkey see monkey do with following a claimed "expert" and trying to keep up, 3. 100+ mph on a public road, and finally 4. 100+ mph into a 40 mph curve.

Glad you were able to type your experience. It's time to think about how you ride and who you ride with. If you can't recognize your limitations and ride within them, then history will repeat itself - and the outcome may not be so nice for you.

Sucks that your bike is totalled - I know how much I enjoy riding with my wife and friends. I hope you're back in the saddle soon, bro. Take it easy next time.

RARE is the person who survives a 100+ mph crash. You just got a second chance in life --- be smart.
