Looking at the pix of the Shogun frame sliders on the moto911 site it looks like they mount using/replacing one of the small engine cover bolts - at least on the left side. I had a set of Shogun no-cut frame sliders for an 04 F4i and they used one of the small cowl to frame bolts to mount. Never put them to the test but my gut feeling was that they would have been ineffective for anything beyond a tipover.

techracer: Shogun '07 replaces the spacers with the offset sliders. Uses the same engine bolts. While they may not be as strong as striaght sliders, they look pretty robust.
