Default Forks feel like their sticking... any one know?

Hey guys, so I'm still awaiting shipment of the replacement parts for my 08 CBR 600rr that was involved in a hit and run. Well, I've cleaned down the bike the following 24 hours after the wreck (which was Late Friday night) and just did as much inspection I could. After I determined there was no significant engine damage, I decided to just let her hang in the garage obviously. Well the other day a pal of mine who hadn't seen the damage stopped by. I hopped on the bike just to wheel it into better light, when as I was stationary, I pressed down weight on the front breaks and noticed that somewhere on the way back up (1/3's) there was this slight "sticking" feeling I could feel through the handlebars via the forks - or at least I think somewhere in that area. I don't know how it could have happened, but I know I felt something. My friend thought it might just be a case of aftershock placebo, but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm my worries or debunk them. Thanks in advance guys!

The forks will never return 100% back to the top of their stroke.

To test your stiction in this case. Measure the distance that your forks compress down and return. You could have bent forks.

Mess with your rebound settings and see if you notice any difference. AFAIK, the channels that carry the fluid for the action of your front forks are like miniscule to a point where dust can cause issues like you're describing. Just my .02.

I'm not too familiar with the 08, but rebound setting is usually found as a **** on the bottom part of your forks.. just look around. You might have something that looks like a plastic cap or you might need a flathead screwdriver. If anything, refer to your manual. I'd say set it all the way loose (basically opening up the sus fluid channels) to see if you still get that sticking then close them up to see if there's a difference..

Also remember to count the clicks so you know what settings you originally had.

Preload is up top, rebound is at the bottom of the forks. The farther you screw them in, the stiffer the impact is. Maybe you have some leaky fork seals?
