Foam in swing arm?
What is this I keep reading about there being foam inside of the 600RR swing arm? Yes/No/Purpose?
I want to convert my F4 to the RR swing arm and plan to powder-coat it (and my frame). If there is foam inside the arm, then it will probably "burn out" when powder-coated. Anyone have experience with this?

Sounds like it isn't anything to worry about. One place stated the stuff doesn't even melt below 400degrees and since powder is put on at less than that, it shouldn't even melt. Another stated if foam does get hot it just "grows" and pops out the holes.

Makes sense for foam to be there. If it was solid metal it'd be heavy as chit. And if it were completely hollow there'd be all sorts or vibration and noises I'd think. So foam would make sense to absorb vibration
I believe the foam is like spray foam and it installed before the blind nuts are installed for the hugger. So after the cast part and the aluminum part are welded together they drill the 3 mounting holes spray in the foam, install the blind nuts and it's done. If the oven temp for powder coating is around 350 the foam will only soften and not flow. T
