Default FI light on- '07 CBR600RR

I own an 07 CBR600RR with 2000 miles, serviced at 600. I live in England and use normal unleaded fuel (95RON).

3 times in the past 2 weeks I have had the red FI light come on after around 2 minutes of riding.[:'(] There is no noticable change in the bike. When I pull over, turn the ignition off and restart the bike the light goes off and stays off.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I am not mechanically minded, I will take the bike back to the shop if it could be serious.

Many thanks in advance for the help.

yeah
you are going to have to get the codes read to pinpoint the problem but you can narrow it down if you have done any work to it,

servo motor unplugged, things like that

No engine/exhaust mods at all........

The only changes are cosmetic: a tank cover, carbon fibre clock surround and yoke protector.

Cheers

yeah, with no mods you have to read the mil blinks
with the ignition switch on or idling with the sidestand down the MIL will blink

there are long and short blinks
1 long blink is 10
so two long blinks is 20
short blinks are single
so two long blinks and 5 shorts are 25
then just come back with the number and i will look up the trouble code.

MIL blink?

I am probably being very thick, but I don't know what that is.

The lights that come on when the ignition is turned on are: N, oil, HISS, FI and HESD.

A couple of seconds after the ignition is switched on they all go off apart from the N and oil.

When I fire her up the N stays on (obviously!) and the oil light turns off.

I can't see anything else blinking when the ignition is on or when she idles on the side stand.

Sorry if I have got the wrong idea about what you have said, it will take me at least a week until I can get my bike into the dealer and I use it everyday for work so I would appreciate some more advice.

Many thanks

The red light is a Malfunction Information Light. when the ECU detects a sensor that's out of it's specification, is responds with a correct "code". this code is relayed blinking lights. if it stays lit, that means there is a short in the Data link connector, a faulty ECM, or a short circuit in the data link connector wire. does your oil light come on in the LCD when this happens? it could also be a MIL circuit malfunction.
