I have an 03 RR and i was thinking about buying new fairings. What changed from 03-04 or 03-05/06? I know the 06 looks considerably different but if all the mounting points line up why not buy 04 or even 06 plast? anyone know? thanks

 

They changed the front and rear fender, side skirts (dull black plastic under the rider seat), and the rear tail. The fenders don't fit as they changed both the front shocks and rear swingarm, but I don't see why not the side skirts and tail pieces won't align up. But don't hold that to me. Pretty sure the lower, mid, tank, and upper cowl pieces will also work between 03-04 and 05-06 years.

 

No changes except colors & decals from 03 to 04 and 05 to 06.
The upper, mids and lowers from a 05/06 will bolt right on a 03/04, but you have to have the air intake tubes from the 05/06.
The tank cover is the same from 03 to 06.

The tails are kinda tricky, you can swap them; the 05/06 tail to a 03/04 sub-frame, but it requires some slight trimming of the underseat plastic. To do it right you would want the complete sub-frame to match the tail. The 05/06 subframe will bolt right up to a 03/04 frame and vice-versa. Then it's a direct bolt-up.

jason your cbr has some nice **** on it, if i didnt live so far id be intrested, pretty sure im makin mine a track bike soon. if you want to sell some of the parts like rearsets, gpr, or the pc3 let me know. might be intrested in some of the extras too if you would sell seperatly. pm sent
