Default Exhaust heat?

I know I seen this asked before but there were little/no replies. Does anyone with a non CF exhaust and no heat shield have problems with you tail light lens getting hot enough to melt? My exhaust should come in wed. and I'm wondering if I should put the heat shield on or leave it off so it looks better.
Thanks
Jerrad

Same with me for the Jardine. No shield, no problems.
