Default Engine Temp

I just got a new 2006 Honda CBR RR 600 and today i was riding around town and my temp gauge went to 224. It stayed around 200 most of the time unless I was doing 60mph it went back down to 180. It has 700 miles on it. Is that normal for the temp to get that high driving around town?

Completely normal man no worries... On the freeway going 60+ it should sit around 170F-185F, and on a hot day in traffic at a stop light don't be suprised if you see 230F it's perfectly normal. These little highrevvin bastards run hot.

I have an 03 600rr and I was wondering the same thing. I've seen mine rise from 190 to 226 at one stop light. I am glad to hear it's normal.

Yea i thought the same with my bike...cuz like its odd to see a temp increase that fast...but the air forced through the radiator while moving cools it down....so ur straight

I have an 04 and at 220 my fan kicks on and usually doesn't let it get over 222 or 223, even stopped at a light in the summer. You may want to make sure your fan is coming on.

Fan comes on at 219 F on mine. You'll see 230 or 231 if you do any type of parade runs or extreme traffic. Thats 110 or 111 in Celcius. The bike will shut off if anything gets real out of hand, so you don't have anything to worry bout besides your a$$ is gonna be burning.
