Battery bad, can get started then temp gets up to 160?

Battery bad, can get started then temp gets up to 160?
my battery is bad and I’m going to get a new one Tuesday but I can get it started just barely and went to ride it today and after not even a mile the temp said 160 and my fans didn’t come on either. Could it just be miscalculating because of the bad battery? The bikes not even hot but obviously I stopped right away. Any advice would be appreciated thanks
