Does this come off???

Would like to know if this comes off, the black cap on top of the big nut on the triple tree?? If it is removable how do I remove it??

Yes it does mate, mine was really old so I had to tear it off. The shop manual implies you can just pull it off.

maybe try to persuade it with a flat head screwdriver if it's stuck on there. But in theory, it should pull right off with your fingers

thanks guys I did get it off, I had to use a pair of pliers very carefully and it
worked. I just wasn't sure if that was a removable piece.
