Default Do I definately need a power commander for long motor life?

I just purchased a '03 600 RR with 4473 miles from a second owner. I am now the third owner. I got to looking, trying to figure out if it has a full or slip on exhaust, and I believe it has a full Moriwaki exhaust. I am going to look under the passenger seat tomorrow and see if she has a PC III. If she doesn't have a PC III, will the bike be safe to ride mechanically? I do not want to tear up the motor because of a $300 computer. I am now on a budget again and would like to know if I can get by for a while without the PC and programing and if so, how long can I get by without it? Thank you for your concern and answers.

No you don't need a PC. You're motor will be fine.

Thank you. I also need to know if it is hurting my shocks by keeping it strapped to a trailer for a couple of days?

I would think you would be okay with this as well. The shocks are pretty strong. What really hurts them is hard landing from wheelies.

I don't do wheelies. I am just a rider and I've been that way the last eleven years of riding. I am just keeping it strapped to the trailer until I can get it the my local Honda shop on Tuesday.

the suspension is going to be fine as long as the bike is strapped down by the wheels and can perform as its supposed to on the street. If its strapped down by the triples or clip ons or something and the forks are compressed and their travel is reduced then it wouldnt be good. otherwise the suspension will do what its there for and it wont be an issue.

It is actually strapped around each side fork with one strap being on each side. The strap is sitting on a handkerchief and just looped over each fork above the front fender. The straps are not pulling the bike down onto the suspension. I hope they are not bending the forks out, are they? Also, i noticed rust on the outside of the chain. Since it only has 44xx miles, can I replace the chain only without changing the sprockets, or will a simple cleaning solve my problem? 3x thank you.

Just practicing posting pics from photo bucket. That was my old 954 that got stolen last year. Nasty, fast bike.

I was going to say that is not a 600RR. Beautiful bike you had. I hate to hear that a$$ clowns have nothing better to do and aren't intelligent enough to get real job and earn a honest living so they have to steal someone else property that they worked so hard for. Post pics of your 600RR when you get them.
