glad youre OK

Ive only worn SHIFT and Joe Rocket and love both. Shift seemd to fit better, but the rocket seemd higher quality. both had great armor. triumph gloves suck!!!! but are still better than not.

If you only have to replace plastics, I'd go for DIY its a lot cheaper and the dealer wont be able to do anything you cant do yourself better. Plus you'll get to know your new bike better.

I'm glad you came out of it in relatively good shape. I was flying right over that area yesterday morning. If you're in NorCal and you ride a lot you might want to consider getting a membership with thelocal air ambulance provider (REACH or Calstar...or better yet, both).I don'twant that to sound like a plug (since I work for REACH) but I think it's good advice and cheap insurance up here.
I livein Kelseyville, near Lakeport, so I know the area you were riding (it's beautiful). Quite a few of the folks at my base ride...when you get back on your feet we'll get a group together.

Titanium is cool and all, but what do you think will happen with titanium when it slides across pavement? Hot. Very very hot. I've heard of people being burned by it after being knocked out by a wreck.

Kelseyville is pretty close to me, thats cool, and yes, i am a member of Calstar. great service and pretty cheap for 50 or so bucks a year.

well my buddy rode my bike over this morning and it is so depressing. i don't think its that bad, but there is a few issues. i hope i captured them in the photos. the good thing is it started right up and its very drivable. he said the right side handlebar is alittle bent. he said when he made a right turn the handle hit the plastic alittle. so i'm not sure what that entails to make it right. overall the right side seems pretty ok. the rear plastic area where the back seat is needs to be replaced, along with the bottom plastic section and the left fairing. thats something i think i can do no problem.

as said before the left headlight is gone and needs to be replaced. i noticed the black cable going into the clutch assembly has pulled out alittle, so i'm not sure what to do there. it works but, its at a funny angle. there is a good photo of that issue. the front plastic area where the headlights and read out display has a crack right down the center just below the tach. can i just order an entire new front piece? there is some scratches on the left side where the round metal "honda" is stamped. i can live with the scratches but wonder if i can paint over it and call it good. the shifter seems to be bent in alittle too.

for you local guys, where is a good shop that i can take the bike to if its determined i need to do that? i bought the bike from the honda shop in ukiah, but there service department is less than desirable. i was thinking of trailering it down to santa rosa if need be, unless there is somewhere closer that will do the job better. i'm open to all options you guys have. thanks for all your input.

now for the mess....

Looks mostly cosmetic to me. Give her a bath and start a list of what you need to replace from front to back. Remember your fasteners and stuff. Take off that tail section and see if she is tweaked or the plastic is just twisted.

Oh yeah, and get some frame sliders, swingarm sliders, and bar end sliders when you fix her up.

thanks for the kind words. i 'm hoping its just some minor plastic repair. i was going to wash it up tommorrow and start taking some of the broken pieces off. i've seen the frame sliders, but i thought i read somewhere they do not fit correctly on the 07's? what are swingarm and bar end sliders?

Swingarm sliders are frame sliders for your swing arm. They are smaller, though. The bar ends go on the ends of your handle bars and are longer than the normal ones. Both are designed to keep your bike safer and less damage in an accident.

Any frame slider is better than no frame slider. I use Vortex.
