Default CBR 600RR 2003 performance?

My wife bought a CBR 600rr 2003 model.

Now, its an imported bike, straight from Japan I think. Those models come out heavily restricted. When I first test drove it it was limited at 187KM/h . I spoke to the shop, they said that they will obviously take of the governer before we get it. (its the same thing with all their imported bikes). THey also said they will take out some plates in the airbox and open up the exhaust. Well be got it, and it pulls muich betetr now, governer is out.

My question?

I still think it can run better, the power delivery feels a tad uneven. In first it pulls quite madly up to about 10K rpm's then it doesn't accelerate as fast as before 10K. I also with my heavy *** only get about 205KM/h on it, which is about 215 on my ZX6. My wife gets 225KM/h sometimes which is close to 240 on my bike. (Yes, the Honda speedo's are way more accurate)
I'm thinking Dyno, air fuel ratio must be fcked up because of bigger airbox and bigger exhaust?

Or do you guys think it performs like it should?

Thanks a stack

205 KPH roughly = 127.39 MPH. The RRs can do a lot more than that. Air to fuel ratio would have to be really off to slow it down that much. My 05 RR showed 163 mph on a dyno, but that's with a few mods.

A PCIII usb is an easy way to change/check your fuel/air ratio and tune it.

Thanks, thats what I thought, cant dyno it without a pciii ....
Gonna take it to a shop to see what the dyno says before we invest in a pciii

What else can cause it not to have more power?

I'm not sure what you are saying ... you can dyno without a PCIII. The PCIII will let them tune your air/fuel a lot easier and on a FI bike, makes it possible to tune.

If you have an aftermarket or an exhaust for the states... and they fixed the air box with a better filter... I'm not sure. I'd assume all they did to slow the bike down was starve it for air and cut some of the fuel delivery. What about the 2nd set if injectors? Do they remove them or unplug them? The RR has a 2nd set of fuel injectors that kick in around 8000 rpm. If they are slowing down the bike, that would have a great way of doing it.

There is something wrong. I have an 03. You should just be getting to the fun part of the RPM range at 10K. And you should definitely be much faster than 205 km/hr.

Hi.

Ok, the fuel injectors thing sound intricate? might it just be a "plug" thats not connected? for the second set not to function...

Also, can someone confirm the OEM sprocket and pinion size for the 03? It seems like its a 43 tooth at the rear. (this one we have is a 41 <-- that might make some sense) i have not yet checked the front but I believe it should be 16?
