the problem with superbikes is that somebody at Speed decided the first episode of the show (which was basically replacing a motorcycle racing news show) should be about sportbike "gangs" that hang out at a Bar/bike shop, do stunts in busy city traffic, and while out on group rides stop on the side of the road (in the canyons) and drink beer (you can see one of the riders holding a beer can)! Honestly they had several episodes that could have been aired before that to make the transition but when your first episode is that kind of crap, your going to lose 90% of the 2 Wheel Tuesday audience that would have considered watching "Superbikes!" The episode on privateers or the one where that jackass did a trackday on an 06 R6 would have been 10000x better choices of a first episode if for no other reason than not immediately alienating the already built up audience from the previous show.
They screwed themselves out of better ratings for the show

I think by 2008 we will have a good motorcycle racing show on Speed channel but I wouldn't expect anything before then. The audience is growing rapidly which is something you can't say for very many other motorsports

I will never understand the appeal of nascar (other than bright colored cars and high speeds seeming very interesting when completely drunk). I will watch cars racing on road courses, thats fine and its fairly interesting (although nothing i've seen can come close to comparing with some of the World Superbike races already this season), but watching cars drive in circles for hours on end is borderline pathetic imo

I dare anybody to watch the movie "Faster" and tell me nascar is more interesting than motorcycle racing

nascarappeals to people that don't know jack crap about racing but has enough statistics and rules to make any idiot feel smart when talking about it

 

I hope your right for 2008. I hope Super Bike covers different aspects of the Sport bike community. But like you said they don't need to shot themselves in the foot by showing stupid stuff like drinking & riding.

 

SPEED sucks............I'm going to make my own damn channel. If they can have a Golf channel, they can have a freakin' motorsports channel (WITHOUT NASCAR). Nascar already has Fox, Speed and ESPN sucking it's *****........I want a motoring channel with ONLY the following.........

- TopGear (BBC Show)
- Lots of Asphalt-track Motorcycle Racing (GP, AMA, etc.)
- Some Motocross and Supercross
- Lots of Rally Racing
- Rides (TLC Show)

.....and maybe a couple others.

My channel will be called "JOSH'S SUPER-FREAKIN-COOL, NON-GAY MOTORSPORTS CHANNEL"

NO drag racing, no Nascar, no BS. I want to watch cool motorsports.......not gay ones.

Nicky is having trouble getting a good front end setup (as are all of the other Honda riders except pedrosa)
I think he crashed 2 or 3 times at the last race (may have been Qatar but I was thinking it was Jerez) during practice
its not so much that he can't carry the cornerspeed as it is that he can't feel what the front tire is doing when he does it which is why he shot out so well in Jerez but couldn't keep it up for the race without an almost guaranteed crash.

the pathetic thing is that Pedrosa who is the only Honda rider not having major problems with the bike is the only one that gets a new chassis while the struggling riders (including a certain world champion) who are asking for revised parts are being ignored.

 

HONDA represented well in Spain this past weekend. Toselandgot a 5th & 1st place to stay #1 in the points standings in World SuperBike. Sofuoglukicked A$$ in World SuperSport with a 1st place as well. Now Hopefully MotoGP & AMA, HONDA will kick A$$ & take name.
