Busted
I was the one busted doing 164mph on I-5 here in Oregon 2 weeks ago. Here is what they are offering me and my Lawyer:
20 days jail (can substitute for road crew work)
$650 fine
90 daylicense suspension
18 months court probation
I have to take a driver improvement course
I spent one day in Jail already when I was arrested, plus $520 to get my bike out of impound, and my lawyer fees are $1500.
Plus I have to plead guilty to Reckless Driving (class A misdemeanor) which stays on my record permanently and affects my insurance.
To put this in perspective:
No one was hurt, I did not run from the troopers, I had valid drivers license, insurance and registration, and NO Prior record.
I have the video which I will post after my sentencing on May 15th.

One more thing. It is NOT worth it. Definitely do not like the situation I find myself in. Im just glad to get this all over with and move on with things. I will keep an eye on the big picture from now on when I'm out riding. Lane County Jail sucks, paying fines and lawyers suck, and having my bike impounded sucked.

How were you doing 164mph and got pulled over?? How did they even catch up to you??

I do have a statement for you though Redline....
I'm glad you got caught and are facing the punishment. (typed in a nonhostile manner)This will in turn save your life, which is what we all like to see. I'm sure you're going to get slammed with squid statements and what not but... move on and keep the shiny side up! .. Goodluck with your court dates and glad you've learned a lesson.
how was the camera mounted on your bike? was it the mount that goes on the gas tank or was it on your helmet? i'm trying to figure out how you got caught (ie. how they saw your speedometer). it always sucks getting your hand caught in the cookie jar, but for you, this sucks alot more than most. i'm not going to preach to you about this or that; i have done my fair share of fast driving and riding, but was fortunate enough to not get caught...at least going that fast, *****.
sorry to hear about that stuff you are going through and the money you have to spend.
