Default Brake light stuck on.

Last week I became the proud owner of an 05 CBR600RR. Everything works great on it, but the brake light is stuck on. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have been around motorcycles for years but I'm not familiar with the workings of new street bikes. Thanks a ton!!!

check the spring that attaches your foot brake lever to the brake sensor...

release the spring and see if the sensor is stuck...

and go from there

should look something like this

Check the sensor on the handle bar brake as well.

+1^ most likely its a stuck sensor or a lever not returning right. If those aren't the problem, look for a short under the pass seat.

All of those very helpful suggestions. I'll give those a shot and see if that fixes it. Thank you all =)

I fixed it. On the front brake light switch, many aftermarket levers do not press the plunger back in far enough, therefore, it stays on. All I did was put two layers of electrical tape on the lever tab as a temporary fix. works perfect.
