Default Bike wont start

This is the second time I've had this happen, I'll ride the bike for a short period 10-15 min and when I shut it off the battery is too weak to restart the bike. I have not checked the connection to the battery to see if it is loose. I dropped the bike off to get a tire put on this morning and the bike was dead when they went to pull it in. any ideas?? just wonderin if this was a common problem. and I only took my bike to have the tire installed because my buddy works there and he does it for free

do you ride many short distances? Do you Wheelie a lot? Are the roads very rough? Have you tested your R/R module for proper working condition? be sure to check your cable connections, clean, and renew them. does the bike sit for extended periods of time without use?

This same thing happened to my RR last week. New battery was fine for 3 or 4 starts, then zilch. Recharging had the same results, eventually it was traced to the regulator/rectifier, and all seems well. A Honda weakspot, apparently.

Best I have had with battery life is 7 years, but most seem to last 2 or 3 years, despite them being babied.
