Bad gas mileage!!

Hi I am new to the forum but thought I would throw this out there and see if anybody had any advice. I have an 03 CBR600RR and it is pretty much brand new with only 2000 miles on it. Right now i am only getting about 30 miles to the gallon which seems pretty low to me. I have had a PC3 installed with a custom map and K&N air filter. I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem and maybe knew how to fix it. I have asked the shop where i usually get my work done and they dont seem to know. I would appreciate any help anybody can give me. Thanks.

uhhh... look at the specifications on the bike... do you have the users manual...?? because im pretty sure that your 30 mpg is a pretty average number. These engines are HIGHLY tuned and LOVE the gas... I'm pretty sure your number is normal... ill post in just a second w/ a website you can look at

What is your driving style like? Also, what emissions do you have installed on the bike? Have you checked the air filter and spark plugs ? Are you running rich/lean ? Is your O2 sensor clogged or riddled with carbon deposits ? How about your air flow sensor, runnning properly ? Throttle position sensor ? Idle settings? Does your exhaust smell any different than a normal bike?

All these together or by themselves can cause poorer gas mileage. Based on the fact that you are still getting 30mpg I would say it is something subtle like the items mentioned above. Lets get some input....

Wow according to that other forum I guess that is pretty much what these bikes get. That kind of sucks.
