Backpack failure...
 

I have this feeling that my backpack is about to fail... it's not really showing any signs of obvious wear, no loose stitching or anything. But I just have this feeling that my laptop will be skittering down the 101 all by its lonesome. Has anyone ever experienced a backpack failure? Do the straps go causing the bag to fall away? Or is a seam more likely to burst and just leak my chones onto the road?

While we're on the topic, does anyone have a good backpack reco? I need to fit a 17" laptop and gym clothes/shoes.

Just get a new backpack if you're worried. It'll be worth the peace of mind if nothing else. Go to the store and look for a nice one, and strap it in tight.

+1. I've never had any problems with the 25 dollar eastsport bags from walmart...but when I'm parts running for work andI have to carry something heavy (brake rotors or alternators etc.)I will usually borrow my coworkers marines bag he picked up in the service--which is probably the strongest bag you could find.

If you really want the added piece of mind you should be able to pick one of those bags up from an army surplus store. I haven't because I feel kind of like a piece of s*** for wearing a marines bag when i never served but 1st for the added safety of not having a strap break on you and 2nd for the value of what your'e carrying it might not be a bad idea for you to consider that option.

1. Do a function check on it for worn, torn or damaged areas of the bag. or 2. Like T55 said just go out & get a new bag & stop worrying.

Ive got an underarmor back pack, works great for me and its even waterproof, but if i were to buy another one id just make sure its got the center clip across your chest

my buddy got a fox backpack from cyclegear.com its really nice i dont think it would fit all you need in there though

Thanks for all the input (sorry about the wrong posting area). I am going to swing by cycle gear tomorrow and see what they got. Its pretty foggy and sometimes rainy in the morning where I live so I think I need to get one with a bit more weather proofing than the walmart models.
