RE: Attempted bike THEFT - READ ME
Is there no place you can put some bull eyes in the ground, and use a high end D lock, from your frame to lockthe bikedown? As for a camera, my mate hadfantastic shotsof some slag with a hood on wheeling off his GSXR. One place I used to live they took the camera! They should have a hammer taken to their hands.

^ well my roomate and I talked with the apartment complex management and requested to add metal rings into the ground to lock the bikes up with if thats what you mean by bulls eye. But they said that they wouldn't be able to do that...figures...I mean it's a nice complex even just a night security guard would be a great start. We'll see what corporate will say.

I park my bike in the lot outside my apartment most nights. When I can, I bring it in the apt. itself. But, the only thing that lets me sleep is the Scorpio i900 alarm with pager. If someone gets near it, the perimeter sensor triggers the alarmwhich pages the handheld remote. It's expensive (~$450) but it helps me sleep at night. Well worth the investment for me!

Oh, forgot to mention: Bully locks makes a disc lock with an alarm on it. It's loud as hell and only takes the slightest nudge to start it screamin'. Whenever I leave mine outside at the apt., all 3 discs are locked up as close to the calipers as possible. Cover it with a cheap cover and it makes all those other visible bikes much easier targets. Takes less than 5 minutes to lock/unlock my bike each time, which I consider part of the ownership experience.
