Anyone try these yet?

Hey all, I am a new poster, butI have been reading a lot of good info here for a few months. Anyways, I have installed some frame sliders for my 07 CBR600. Just wanted people to know that these are another option for no-cuts on the 07 and 08 models. What I like about them is that they have three mounting points and they seem pretty stout. They anchor to the engine mount bolts, and to two of the cover bolts. I chose them thinking there would be less chance of these brackets folding over in the case of an impact. Here are some pics...

hit them as hard as you can with a 10 Lbs. Splitting maul. that'll tell you if they'll do their job.

They look pretty good, and solid. I wouldn't wory about thaem bending.

The only thing I'd be worried about would be that the mounting on the engine covers could potentialy transmit the impact energy from a fall straight into the engine cover/ engine.

Don't know how much of an issue that would be since the engine is a stressed part of the chasis anyways.

I went with the through-the-fairing style for cost, availability, and the above stated reason, but love the way yourno cut sliders look.

I thought of that too, but then I realized that I always see scars on engine covers anyways because that always seems to hit the ground first. I think theclutch and stator coversare stronger than we give them credit for. Anyways, who knows what the future holds, hopefully nothing bad....

You got a great point there;
if the covers can handle a direct assault from the pavement during a fall, the sliders can only add to the protection.

I didn't think of that.

Looks good & I think your rational for attaching it to engine cover was a smart thing to do. Safe Riding!!!
