Is anyone running 20W50 in thier '06 CBR RR?
I bought my bike a couple months back and just changed my oil at 4000 miles. All the bike shops recommended me to use this becuase of the heat, so I used it. I was just wondering, should I let the bike warm up for a while or what with this heavier oil?

OH NO!!!
Another oil thread....i use what ever the dealership puts in everytime i go..its easier that way and i never have to question my choice of lubricants. If it is a heavier oil it will be a lil thicker but i dont think in the summer its take longer to warm up.The winter might be a different story.Call the dealership..they will know...

after 27000 miles i started using castrol gps10w40 semi syn. on my 06 rr it lowered the temp my 5 degrees, and im an arizona its been like 115 out here and during the day it runs 185 degrees and thats with engine ice last year it was running aroung 205 degrees so the combo drop it bout 20 degrees on average and during the winter it takes about 2 minutres to warm up it does get cold out here too going 20w50 might be going a little thick especial during winter in my opinion

I prefer Castrol gtx 2 20w/50.Its a thicker oil yes but it helps with reducing wear in motor and your bike engine is much smoother and also your gear change is smooth.I have tried Shell Helix ones but it sound like your bike is busy fallng apart.
