Any ideas would be highly appreciated
I was wondering if starting on a 07 cbr 600rr would be a good idea.
I've only ridden my friends'motorcycle a few times. However, I have more than two years experience of riding a 150cc scooter and a manual car.The traffic in my country is kinna stop and go ( I would mainly ride around 40mph). Would u recommend me the bike?? ( I dont care about the speed, I just love the looks and sound of it). |
If you want a 600rr, go for it. Its your money and your life.
But practically speaking, a 600rr is overkill to ride 40mph in traffic all the time. For that, a 125 or 250 would be a better choice. They are cheaper, lighter, much better on fuel, and a better step up from a scooter. |
To me, if you live in an area where traffic is congested and nonstop, having a heavier bike would be more of a frustration than anything. Seems to me that you'd want something light and nimble.
Give what you said, you could literally never get out of 1st gear. You'd be paying a lot of money for something you'd never even come close to fully utilizing. But if you have the money and want it, go for it. I've seen people do much more foolish things with their money. |
thanks for the reply! I am not so sure what does "overkill to ride" means. Could u please clarify it?

Sure. It's 100% do-able.

Overkill means that everything about that bike is designed to not go 40mph in traffic all the time.
Be like buying a Ferrari to go across the street to the supermarket, and back. Can you do it? Sure. Should you do it? |
