Question After Market Fairings vs OEM Fairings?

My 2008 600rr was run over by an old man yesterday while it was parked in front of my house yesterday. He was kind enough to leave a note but i think he would of thought twice if he knew how much fairings cost. I found some aftermarket fairing kits from hong kong that are a quarter of the cost of honda. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them? One guy said the plastic is thin and cracks very easy. But i dont know if i believe him.

I am in the same situation as you my bike got backed into by a truck.
I'm looking at cbrfairings.com as I have heard lots of good things about them as for fitment and quality.
Hope it works out for the both of us.

I've heard a lot of horror stories with really cheap Ebay fairings but I have heard a lot of good things from more reputable companies such as Delkevic, Autcmarts, CBRfairings.com. I bought a set of unpainted Delkevic fairings for my F4i so I can not comment on the paint quality but the plastic itself is great. Not thin, doesn't crack, fits great. I would look into that.

Unless you want a different design, why wouldn't you go OEM if someone else (and their insurance, at that) is picking up the tab?

I went with OEM. I only have 2 experiences with after market one. The tail china piece was sort of hard to put it on, but it went on. When I had minor accident, it broke in the so easy. If that was OEM, it would just got road rash. And I wanted CF tail, so I got one from china. It did not even fit. Something about their mold is slightly wrong. And I don't think plastic is as strong as OEM, in my opinion
