After how many miles should a chain be replaced? I haven't changed it at all yet and my bike has 12,200 miles on it.

It depends on the abuse and the maintanance that was given to the chain. I've had customers that purchase the best chain out there and abuse the **** out of there bike and drive through all kinds of weather and have to replace them in a couple of months, but if you lube your chain and drive your bike normally it will go 30,000 miles on a good quallity chain. It sound like you need to replace it, its worth the 100 dollars you will spend. Johnny
