advice on a new swing arm
hello all...i'm new to this but need some help so here we go. i have a 06 cbr 600rr and it is the black with red trim model. i love my bike but would love nothing more than to have it ALL black. this means my levers, pegs, and swingarm would be in need of change. my concern is whether or not a black swingarm from an 07 600rr will fit mine. one guy at the service garage said 'probably not and if it did, it might throw off the geometry of the bike.' another guy said he thought it would fit and if we tried and it didn't fit we could just throw the old one back on.
should i even attempt it?
has anyone out there tried this before?
should i just try a powder coat instead?
any help would be great. thanks for reading.

RE: advice on a new swing arm
thanks for the response...the thing is, i have an 07 swingarm already from a buddy who got his replaced after his brother dropped his bike. he got a brand new one and the old one has the tiniest scuff on it so i don't have to pay anything for it. just have to know if i should even attempt it before going at it. i'd have to take it off to get it powdercoated anyway so maybe i should just try to see the new one fits after taking the original off.

The 07 swingarm I believe is slightly shorter than the 06. I think your best bet would be to do it. Take an afternoon and get your hands dirty. The only thing you'll loose is time, but if it fits.......then you can come back on here and brag about how you have an 07 swingarm on an 06 and you'll be popular.
But I'm stubborn like that. If someone says "no, it won't fit", I'll try it anyway.

RE: advice on a new swing arm
I've powdercoated my swing arm and most of the rear section on my bike...it's WAY worth it. Find a good powder house near you and take it off, it's not that hard with the right tools. You'll need a bearing puller and tool to press the swing arm pivot bearings back in...but it saves lots of headaches, which I had when I did mine. I actually bent my original swing arm pressing the bearings back in on a table press, when I could have just sopent $70 on a tool to get them back in..hind sight is always 20/20...
Here's a pic of what it looks like afterwards...I have done more parts since this pic like the chain adjusters and misc. bolts/nuts...as well as black lowers on her now...looks sweet all black!!
