Go to California Superbike school with Keith Code. Also, go purchase a book called "A twist of the wrist II". Now, for true mods to the bike, replace coolant with watter wetter or other non-glycol based coolant. That will be required to get on the track with most courses. Some will require safety wiring your oil filter, filler cap and drain bolt. Your gear will have to pass, and your bike will have to pass tech inspection. Tires must be at least 85% usually. Go out in the novice class and they'll help you somewhere like www.sportbiketracktime.com Also remember a 1 piece suit is usually more protective than a 2 piece suit. Also, depending on the track and your class...ie intermediate/advanced, you may be required to wear a back protector as well. Get the best gear you can.
Also, but a lot of duct tape to cover your lights, tail light, turn signals, and get some mirror block off plates.
