Look, 90% of you whack jobs will never need a slipper. it's just something else on the bike that you can say came from racing technology... just like the RR at the end of the name.

Call me stubborn, but I will NOT buy a 2007 until they either change the taillight or I find a suitable aftermarket mod to replace it. Until then, I'm extremely happy with my 06.

Yeah, the whole tail light thing seems a bit strange. I can see it for trackdays, but really, how many people go to the track on a regular basis, or even somewhat often. Probably like 5-10%. I'm sure someone will come up with something, but until then it looks like crap.

But then when it comes to the one (AND ONLY ONE) thing that will truly make your bike look like a racebike, people get into all sorts of hissy fits??? Of course that one thing that will make your bike look like a racebike is to to RIDE IT ON THE TRACK!!
As someone has already said, that's the purpose of this particular "feature". To make it easy to take to the track. Why don't you guys just take advantage of that. [sm=goodidea.gif]

Don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT idea (for people that LIVE at the track), but I'm riding it to work/college/around town 95% of the time.....and the taillight location on the 2007's LOOK AS ULGY AS SIN! I attend track days usually once or twice a month. Other than that, I'm on the street putting on 1500-2000 miles a month on my bike. I rather tape up the taillight for that little 5% time at the track than have an ugly rear end 95% of the time. - But that's just my opinion.

As I mentioned in my other post above, it seems like it comes off easily for trackdays, which is great. 10/10 for Honda with creativity. Yamaha also has a similar setup on the R6 which removes the entire mud flap, turn signals and license plate, also a 10/10 idea.
What I do see wrong with Honda's thinking is their bikes always look so good - flowing lines, aerodynamic designs, good color choices, quality in building and overall design, then they put on a tail light that looks like a brick from your house that's just there like it was a last minute change.
