A little extra grip is always nice.

Just made a trip to the post office. I may be freezing my *** off but at least my tires will be warm and toasty.

Most difficult oil change I have ever performed but it is done now. Changing the coolant to water wetter and distilled water was pretty easy. Only thing left is to add a little fluid to the rear brake.

Anyway, here is how it looks now.

Completed a couple of more tasks today. The hole that was drilled in the drain plug was so close to the edge that it actually snapped when I tried to remove the wire from it. I drilled a new hole yesterday but it is temporary until I order a pre-drilled bolt. I'll put it in during the next oil change.

Next was the big job of taping up the wheel weights. Small but necessary detail.

After a 70+ mph high side I had to do a little work to the bike.

I was able to bum a clip on from another rider and I replaced my right rearset with the home made one that originally came on the bike. After that I was able to ride three more sessions to finish out the day.

I did some fiberglass and bondo work and I was able to salvage the fairings.

After that I sprayed the first color.

Then I sprayed the second color. Unfortunately it had a terrible chemical reaction.

After that I banged my head on the wall for a couple of hours and decided to sand it all back down.

I decided to go with a different color since the purple ended up looking like Barney's ***.

I still have some more work to do but it is coming together. I am currently waiting for the epoxy to cure from where I had to fix the fairing stay where it broke in two places. I also plan on installing the new Vortex rearsets today. Unfortunately Vortex no longer makes replacement parts for the older rearsets I had on the bike.

I love the Orange color. Looks like you did a good job repairing the fairings.

Very good job. Sucks that you had a spill but thankfully it was mostly cosmetic. I was a big fan of the original work on the bike. You've managed to equal your 1st go around.

Thank you. I did get lucky. The only broken parts were a clip on, fairing stay, right rearset, and a badly bent subframe. Other than that it was just broken fairings and some holes in the fairings. It also ruined the windscreen. It does suck that I crashed but this is why I bought a track bike. I have a feeling that crash would have totaled my 2013 ZX6R.

I was told that the bike flipped through the air. I didn't see it, I was just praying it didn't land on me while I was rolling in the grass and sand. I do know that both sides of the bike were damaged so I'm assuming the people that told me about the crash are correct. The worst part is that my GoPro quit 20 seconds prior to the crash.

What track and organizer did the crash happen at? Just curious, glad you're ok.

I dig the new look, lowcel! And, with a 70+mph high side, being able to finish the day out is a huge WIN.
