Default 2004 CBR600RR Track Bike

I picked this bike up a couple of weeks ago. It is a 2004 Honda CBR600RR. Considering all of the mods I believe I got a pretty decent deal at $2,100. The bike has never been on the road, it was purchased new with the intention of turning it into a track bike so it has never had a title. I did check this and had a state cop friend of mine verify it as well.

Vortex Clip ons
Sliders - need replaced
Stainless brake lines
Chain / sprockets
Spools - need replaced
Shorai Lithium Battery
Jardine Headers
Micron slip on
Sharkskinz fairings
Ohlins rear shock
Ohlins fork internals
Ohlins steering damper
K&N filter

Only thing it has to have is a new windshield, the previous owner dropped something on it a couple of days before I picked it up. I am going to replace the rearsets as well, the "custom" ones just don't do it for me. I also plan on replacing the sliders. I believe they are Shogun but I am not sure, can anyone verify? I would like to go with the same ones again since these seem to do the job.

Now for the pictures.

I haven't done much so far except worked on peeling the plastidip and turning the damper around the correct way. The previous owner did not put it on thick enough so I have had a tough time peeling it. I have spent four or five hours so far, all I have left is part of the upper fairing.

It's almost naked.

The panels that I have peeled so far.

Thank you. I am really looking forward to taking it for that first ride. I have only ridden it for about 200 yards so far.

A little more completed this evening. I was too lazy to take the upper off so I decided to do a little work with glazing putty.

Off topic but how many posts do I need to make before I will no longer need a mod to approve my posts?

These two got a layer, sanded, and a second layer applied.

The fender got a layer and sanded, doesn't need a second application.

The lower just got one layer, I'll be sanding it tomorrow evening.

At over 5000miles and those only being track and race miles, I'd be expecting a new engine sometime in the near future if it hasn't already been replaced. Great price for the package though.

Hopefully I can get a few track days out of it before I have to worry about that. I have never replaced an engine. I don't mind learning but I would like to hold off on it for a while.

Wet sanded and ready to spray.

Primer on. I have a few runs, wet sanding should take care of it. The plastics are not in good shape at all. It has certainly been used and abused. Oh well, it's a track bike!

Now I'm watching a movie on Netflix waiting for them to dry so I can wet sand.

I'm going to have some sanding to do before I decide on graphics. Painting in low light areas sucks!

Fitted the plastics today to tape up the graphics.

Added some blue to the front fender.

Added some white to the rest of the fairings. I'll be stripping the tape off tomorrow and doing some more wet sanding.
