Umm was kind-of looking thru some classifieds to see what is around in my towns - i fly back tomorrow for Hell week and actually saw an ad for a 03's CBR600 RR with 3,515 miles (may be more - she is still riding it till it sales) but selling it for $1,800.

Well i know that is an absolute steal price or too good to be true price (which usually is).. Well i bought my 95CBR F3 for 3K with 22Kmiles - so it just seems so bizarre, but then again she/he (whoever) lives in town so i guess i could give it a try.. i mean it's better then being scammed on ebay by a "too good to be true" buy..

Have you guys seen prices like this before?- i know i've seen like cars sold for dumb prices (person dies and the parents just want to get rid of it ) or with bikes (too much power and just way to scared of it).. but wondering what you guys seen newer CBR's been going for.

(what really throws me off is i put her number in google search and comes up to be a ****** H Lee in Texas)

 

wow that would be a steal, i paid 5200 for mine and it had 1,900mi on it hell id check it out

 

definately worth a look. you never know, might be stolen or salvage though. my advise would be just be careful, and ask a lot of questions. $1800 is a steal,until you find out there is a stolen vehicle reporton it, or the frame is bent or something else ridiculous is wrong with it. also, could be a typo or a mistake by thenewspaper, i've had that happen too.like you were saying, that bike can get a minimum of $4kso why sell it for $1800? the only other thing is the seller might have a pretty bad drug and/or gambling problem....if that's the case, that would be sweet.

 

Hah, I'm sure at that price that bike will be getting checked out by a lot of people, lol.

 

yeah - well it's a little classified website, still people would be looking at it probbly.. but it's wierd because there is another one in the vegas area that is a 02' 954RR for $2.6K (never been dropped no stories only 3.9K miles - this guy gave a vin tho)

So i'm hoping everyone in vegas is drugged right now and just dont know what they are doing =P..

 

could be someone who has a loan out on the bike and want you to pay them the 1.8 and take over payments

i called both up today .. the one for 1.8K well she was a nice old lady - kind-of asked if she placed the ad and she told me she never been on the internet and people keep calling her. so i was like "ok sorry for bothering you" then i sent an e-mail to the classified website (www.wheelbynet.com) and told them to remove that ad because she doesnt need anymore grief.. then i tried the next number for the 954RR and the number was disconnected or turned off.. so probbly another person being a punk and getting revenge..

idk but it was worth a shot.. hey read motorcyclist sometime - a guy found a Kawi motoGP champion bike for $1,900 on ebaymotor!!!!!!!!!! jesus just because the person named it "trac" instead of "track" whenputting the bike up onthe auction - so you never know guys, but i wouldnt trust ebay that much - i kind-of research for that..

oh well, guess ill wait till summer is almost over - people love to sell their bikes cheap then =P..
