I'm not a pro but I really like the feedback I get from the Pilots. I've taken them to the very edge and never lost confidence in them. Here is a link that you may find helpful

I put a set of Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's on mine last spring. I didn't really have anything thing to compare them to, but they worked very well!

With the pilot powers, and 2CTs I've never had a slip unless I hit a slick spot on the road like the painted lanes when wet, tar snakes, etc. but never on clean pavement. Mileage has varied depending on how hard I rode and with a passenger or not.

The reasons I like em are:

Very confident grip
Love the profile and turn in of em
happy with the mileage
Price is reasonable for a race type tire ($225 a set shipped)
