Default 07 Woudn't start

I was taking a book back to the library and had to drop some stuff off at the post office. I was on base, so it was all just a few blocks from each other. But I hit the kill switch at the post office to get into my bag. After I got ready, I tried to start my bike and no-go. Pissed off to say the least, I had no idea what was going on. As for the obvious, yes, I returned the kill switch to the run position. I waited for a couple minutes and it started up, but I noticed that the temp was reading 218. The overheat fan comes on at 220, so I'm wondering if the bike is off will it not start when it's over 220, and just has to cool down?

Questions, comments, concerns, snide remarks are welcome. Thanks.

The bike will start over 220. Did you check obvious things such as the headlights and stuff. It is possible that you could have blown a fuse somewhere, preventing spark or fuel from acting properly. Was the bike turning over, or no power at all?

Everything was fine. There were no dummy lights, other than the usual oil light thats comes on when the ignition is on. My brights were on, so that light was on. I had power, it was trying, but not turning over. After I got it started, I drove it a few blocks more to where I work and it stayed there till 8 hrs later, and it started right up.

How long did it take you to get it started. Also, how did you get it started if it wasnt turning over?

Also, I have heard of fuel pumps having issues on some of the early 07s. I have had zero problems with mine, but they die and/or skip sometimes causing the bike to turn over forever but never start.

Sorry, let me clarify. The starter was cranking, but it wouldn't get over the hump and start. It had been maybe a minute, two max before it finally started. I haven't had any problems since then either.

At the moment I'm a T2A553A, I'm an instructor at Sheppard in Wichita Falls, TX. I'm a mechanic on radios, navigation equipment and RADAR on heavies, anything but fighters, to include tankers, cargo, bombers.
