Went for a ride today and multiple times my bike would simply die while cruising. Engine would shut off for maybe a second or two and then come back on. It did this multiple times but was very intermittent. It seemed to do it mostly when cruising, I couldn't "make it" do it or find a pattern of what was causing it.

Two dash lights (the FI and HESD) would always come on when the bike would die, sometimes they would flash also. What does HESD stand for also?

The fuel pump comes on when the key is turned on and when the on/off switch is turned on. Bike has 4600 miles, previous owner dropped it on it's right side but looked to be a minor low side due to the minimal plastic damage. Bike also has a slow oil leak on the right lower case, I'm hoping the gasket was damaged as I can't find any cracks etc. Not sure the oil leak is related but thought it was worth mentioning.

sounds like some sort of short in the electrical system.... hesd is honda electronic steering damper. doubt the oil leak is related, but if the bike hit its side hard enough to do that, it may have damaged some wires. it is possible to dent in the gas tank under the cover where all the cords are

 

check your engine stop switch and make sure it works right all the time, mine likes to mess up, and check your engine stop relay, i had to change mine
