07 600 or 06 1000
Hi All
I'm new here and hope I'm not repeating a post that has been asked a million times before...
I currently own a 02 VFR 800 that I've had for 5 years. Turns out I don't do a lot of touring or two up riding and I'm looking for something new. I'm thinking either 07 CBR600RR or 06 CBR1000RR. My ride is mostly commuting on county back roads and is seldom over an hour.
Your input is appreciated.
Thanks.

Viffer,
I had an 05 Suzuki Katana 600 for almost 2 years. I also rode a '02 gixxer 750 for about 3 months last summer. The change from the Katana to the Gixxer was amazing, the power was insane.
I just got my '07 600rr about a month ago and I have to tell you that it would smoke that Gixxer.
I was trying to decide between the CBR1000, GSX-R 750, and the CBR-600rr. I have to tell you there is only one reason to purchase the CBR1000, that is bragging rights. If you want to be able to tell everyone that is what you ride, because there is no way that you can use all of that power. The 600 is incredibly strong.
Hope that helps some.

I am using the 2007 600RR for commuting, and it is a complete blast in a boring commute. The ergo's are suprisingly good for a sport bike. I am 5'10" and 190 lbs.
My "other" commute bike is a 2006 BMW 1200GS Adventure that I can't even flat foot.
Quite a difference.
I would not plan on doing any 2 up with the 600 though. Again, my reference point is the larger GS for that. I have never been a fan of doing 2 up on a racing bike.

I was also thinking about getting the new 600. It feels really light, i think its the lightest 600 available. Loved the white one, although the european white looks better than the american white. It seems to be a really kickass bike and sllightly better than the yamaha R6 on the street. I like the fact it has a fuel gauge. All bikes should have a fuel gauge.
BUT........ take a look at the suzuki 750. I know the guy up there said the new 600 would smoke it but thats an 02 model. It will not smoke a new GSXR 750. It has the torque that the 600's are missing and it remains light enough to be thrown around like a 600. The only thing its missing is a fuel gauge. But it does have hazard lights and some of you are probably thinking who cares about hazard lights. They come in quite handly during a rain storm and if you pull over on the side of the road.
All the manufacturers have something the others are missing. When will it dawn on them to put everything on it and be the one that offers it all.
