The Triumph just won the 600 shootout in one of the motorcycle mags. Maybe it was Motorcyclist??? Anyways I was really surprised. My only concern is service. I do a lot of long rides 3000 miles++ How is the US service? This is one of the main reasons I bought Honda. (Never needed it but good insurance.

I just got back from visiting a friend who owns a 675.. I rode it for a week while he rode his friends rc51. The bike is badass, he has a full titanium arrow exhaust on it and the thing revs so freely its rediculous. Power throughout the rpm range, very slim tank, you can lean that thing way over it seems. The bad parts are that its a little tall which takes some getting used too and its really really leaned over more than any other bike ive ridden. If i was taller i'd buy one but at 5'9 its just a little to tall for me. My friend is 6'0" and he can touch fine. The 600rr is a great bike but after riding the 675 for a few hundred miles... Dayum its a nice bike.

I have read in the Motorcycle news (MCN) here in britain that the 675 is'nt all its cracked up to be??[sm=badidea.gif]
In this weeks article one guy wrote in and complained about the oil usage of the 675 and this is the reply he got off Triumph:

"A Daytona 675 owner was told by the Triumph factory that a serious engine problem occured with his bike because he had'nt checked the oil on a daily basis - even though it does'nt specify this is required in the owner's manual"[sm=forgetit.gif]

Basically the 675 use's a hell of a lot of oil, if it was a choose out of a brand new 675 or cbr600 there is only one winner for me, CBR600 RR EVERYTIME!![sm=happy046.gif]
Sorry, but if this is true (check the oil everyday) what a POS in my book! Sounds like good ol' oil using and leaking Triumph is Back!

They don't look bad (my 2nd favarite), but too many people I've known have had leaking Triumphs. Even the dealer in town said they were notorious for that and they have been in business since the 50s. Maybe in 2 years they will have a solid machine.

i dont know about checking the oil everyday, its no different than checking your oil with any other sport bike. Everyone should check their oil regardless of it being notorious of leaking or not. Im not gonna turn down a bike only because its notorious for loosing oil, im worried about specs. If it runs good on the track and can out handle the competition i damn well will be proud of checking my oil on a daily basis because i know it can stomp on almost everything else out there.

In the real class you would be racing in(not 600), you will get stomped! Like your bike though!

Think it looks great, but I'm still not a fan of how skinny it is. Especially the picture where it shows the top of the seat and tank. It's kind of like comparing a grey hound (triumph) to a labrador (honda). That's kind of a good comparison.
