Default 05 rr's.... the little box on the side

so i am finally buying my next bike, and i was checking it out yesterday. only one disappointing thing about it...no trunk space!!!

but, i did notice that there is a small box on the right side under the fairings... is this for storage? and how the heck do you get to it short of taking the side off?

thanks

its the tool box......you have to take the right side fairing off. I took the tools out to lose the weight. Not much for storage unless you wanna take off the fairing everytime u need it!

Do you really have to take the fairing commpletly off to get at it on the 05's? If so thats dumb then you need tools to get to your tools. On my 03 I just have to unbolt the one large screw at the point of the fairing. It can be turned with a coin and only needs to turn 1/4 turn. When I unbolt it I can get to the tool box.

ok thats what i figured .. i just noticed it and was wondering if it was the tool box or extra-make-up storage because the trunk is so small..

anyways i thought there might be a quick release or a key turn thing to get into it but i guess that big bolt can be turned with a coin like 2 wheel said.

thanks guys ill figure it out.

1=take the clip off
2=and turn that bolt anticlockwise(half a turn)..it will pop out..and then you can use ur key to open the tool box!!!
