03 electrical starting problem when hot
Hi,
I got this bike last week and I love it but when I stop to get gas o run into the store an just leave the bike stopped for a minute I won't really start back up. When I turn on the ignition it looks fine but when I push the starter it turns over for a half second before resetting. I can push start it easily but it is a pain in the ***. It also starts up just fine when cold. No signs of dead battery. The po mentioned the rectifier. Think I just need a new rectifier? Thanks

Download ElectroSport's Motorcycle Electrical Fault Finding Chart (PDF)
If you don't have the manual, that will help you to test the charging system. It's a good general diag flow chart.

I replaced the rectifier with a new one and now When I turn on the ignition the lights go on and the blinkers work and everything is bright, but the horn just gives a tiny squeek and the starter won't turn over, it just makes a slight sound and then it all resets. When I push start it, it runs with no trouble.
I also checked the voltage leakage with the rectifier disconnected and it showed .2 then .3 then .4 then 0 and stayed there. This all happened with in a couple of seconds. What does it mean?
Thanks
