Water/Cooling tubes on F4 Carbs??
Hey guys, still working thru some carb/fueling issues on my wife's bike. Noticed in the manual that there is a hose running from the water pump to the carbs then back to the thermostat. However, the water pump on mine does not have the extra nipple to run this hose up to the carbs and the line to the thermostat has been capped off.
How important is it to have these water lines run? Is it worth replacing the water pump housing and running these hoses or can they be left off? My initial thoughts are that they're there for a reason and need to be put back on.
Thanks for the help.

They are there for winter riding. There purpose is to warm the fuel during the winter to keep the fuel from freezing. Alot of people cap the system off due to it also heats up the fuel during the summer and you get a little bit power increase with cooler fuel. I had mine capped and the coldest I rode in was 17 degrees farenheit, and didnt have any issues. Sometimes it was a little hardder to start cold but once the bike was warmed up there was enough heat radiating from the engine to keep the fuel flowing fine. I wouldn't worry with it.
