Undertail Kit 99 F4
Ive been looking around for a fender eliminator kit and have found a few but I like this one.
Does anyone have any experience with this kit? or maybe another one that someone thinks is better?

RE: Undertail Kit 99 F4
Hey Macks,
I don't have any experience with fender eliminator kits because I really hated the fact that they charged 60 to 80 dollars for a piece of sheet metal and screws. When I was thinking about getting one I looked everywhere to find a post that showed you how to make your own but no luck. But your in luck because I figured out to do it and you can pretty much just make your own for about 6 dollars.
I started out by cutting my fender up until the luggage hooks, some people cut them off but I figured they might come in handy so I kept them. Then I measured the dimensions (I can post them up later if you want)
Then with the measurements you can go to home depot or any place that sells sheet metal. After you make the measurements just make a stensil out of cardboard and see if it fits. I bought a 12" x 24" sheet of metal for about 6 dollars (it was more than enough, you have enough to make two in case you mess up) and they also have special scissors for cutting the sheets (very easy to cut its like cutting cardboard)
I went home and layed out my stencil and cut the shape that I needed. After that you have to bend the metal to fit so pretty much just use any heavy straight edge to lay on top of place you need to bend and just hand bend it. I would advise you to cut the metal a little bigger and trim it little by little. I just kept trimming it and putting it on to see how it fit. You can then drill the wholes with a drill and mount it with screws. Its also pretty useful because I cut a little flap on the metal so it acts as a license plate holder. It is pretty sturdy and hasn't given me any problems even at high speeds.
I know these instructions are pretty vague but its pretty straight forward.
The whole thing took about 2 hours, Good luck.

Check around on the price. undertail kit for 99-00 f4 I did the primered version and saved $80 and just painted it myself. Primer version comes in as basically white plastic. Scuff it with red scotchbrite, prime it and paint it.
